Hello Kitty Nails

Who would have thought that the range of Hello Kitty products would be so vast after 40 years of this enduring character, there's even Hello Kitty nails now! The first sight of Hello Kitty from the Sanrio Company was nearly forty years ago, when her signature face was seen on the side of a small plastic purse. I wonder if Sanrio themselves even had an inkling of how popular this cartoon cat and her family would become after her appearance in 1974?

Hello Kitty nails are cute, you have to say that, and what gets me is how many designs there are. Not just Hello Kitty nails with a white face in the middle, you would be amazed at the different colors and combinations there are. Now both mom and daughter can have Hello Kitty nails. Every generation has its thing, but like Barbie I think this Hello Kitty phenomenon is going to continue for many more years to come.

I am sure to get the best results when applying Hello Kitty nails it would be best to visit a nail salon. If you want to do your nails yourself at home, or your daughter's, then there are a few things to remember to get the very best results.

If your nails are not in the best condition, then adding anything as bold as a color or 3D Hello Kitty nails will only draw attention to your fingers. If you are like me, then I don't pay much attention to my nails as I am a gardener, so for special occasions I have to quit gardening for at least a week, or at least remember to wear gloves.

For your Hello Kitty nails to look best your nails need to be trimmed, even and with the cuticles looking nice and neat. Even if you are going to a nail salon for Hello Kitty to be applied, nail artists are not miracle workers, so wait until your nails are in their very best condition. The nail artist can work with nails that need to be trimmed, let her do it. The same applies if you are going to attempt to apply your nails at home. It's a lot easier if you can work on each other's nails if both you and your daughter want matching Hello Kitty nails, but with a 3 year-old that may not be possible.

The nicest Hello Kitty nails I have seen are simple Hello Kitty decals applied to French tips that are freshly done. You will always need to apply a base coat of polish before adding the nails, they adhere better. Then the trick is to apply a finishing coat of clear nail polish over the Hello Kitty decals that way they are protected from accidental bumps and scrapes.

Practice makes perfect with any nail art if you are doing it yourself; if you have never applied decals then do a simple design first. When you get more practiced and good at it, you will be looking at all of the Hello Kitty nails and no doubt progressing to something as adventurous as the nails in 3D.
